The most time-consuming part of carrying out amicrobial count is the actual counting process on Petri dishes. Colonycounters facilitate this task and as a result are essential in everybacteriological laboratory. Their particular advantages are the easy, rapidand reliable counting of bacterial colonies with very sample handling.
The colony counter BZG 30 is easy to use, and allows fatigue-free and safe work thanks to its problem-free counting mech anism: The surface on which the Petri dish is placed is pressure-sensitive; marking the colonies on the Petri dish with the marker pen activates the counter. The pressure sensitivity is adjustable for optimal adaptation to the operator.

The colony counter BZG 30 has an acousticcheck signal and automatically compensates for the weights ofdifferent Petri dishes; the pressure sensor system also providesuniformsensitivity over the whole of the workingfield. Zerovoltage protection guards against power interruptions.
The ring-shaped lamp provides uniformworking field illumination; the magnifier offers distortion-freeoptics and can be individually positioned on its extremely flexiblearm.
Versatile work is guaranteed by select abledirect or indirect illumination. Direct illumination isparticularly suit able for nutrient agars with a dark background; indirect illumination for lighter agars. Colony counter BZG30 has an additional counter input for counter marker KS 30and is supplied with an interchangeable Wolffhgel grid.
